I'm a dad in Grafton, Wisconsin. I have a demanding career, a one-acre property, chickens, ducks, kayaks, and a family I'd rather be outside with than in front of a screen any day of the week.
A few years ago I realized something uncomfortable: my kids were drawn to screens more than they were drawn to the outdoors. Not because they didn't want to be outside — but because going outside takes planning, gear, and energy that most parents don't have left after a full week of work. So we defaulted to screens, and the screens always won.
I built The Outdoor Dad Co. to remove that excuse.
When a family picks up an ODC package they're not renting equipment. They're getting a completely planned outdoor experience — the gear, the setup instructions, the activity guides, and the itinerary — so the only thing left to do is show up for their kids.
We're based in Grafton and serve families across the greater Milwaukee area. We're also building a library of free and paid digital resources for outdoor families everywhere — because the outdoors shouldn't only be accessible to families who live near us.
Outdoors > Screens.

We believe presence is the point. A family who goes outside together isn't just getting fresh air — they're building the memories that actually last. Screens don't do that. Campfires do.
We believe barriers are the problem. Most families want to be outside more. The gear research, the planning, the packing — that's what stops them. We eliminate every barrier we can.
We believe everyone deserves an outdoor family. You don't need a cabin in the mountains or a garage full of gear. You need one good weekend and the right partner to make it happen.
