The Big Dig Field Guide
01 | The Triple Arch
The centerpiece of every Big Dig party is a professional three-arch backdrop built from collapsible metal arches for durability and easy transport. Neutral fitted arch covers provide the foundation while construction-themed details bring the jobsite to life.
Professional-grade vinyl construction flags, oversized birthday numbers, stacked black and yellow jobsite totes, a real steel Tonka truck, and a Happy Birthday sign create a backdrop that feels like a real construction zone—not a cardboard party aisle display. It's the perfect place for photos, gifts, cake, and the memories you'll actually want to keep.
02 | The Personalized Welcome Board
Every Big Dig party includes a personalized 16" x 20" hard board welcome sign featuring the birthday builder's name. Unlike a rolled-up poster, this rigid board display is designed to be a premium keepsake long after the celebration is over.
The welcome board can be incorporated into the main party display or positioned at the entrance to welcome guests as they arrive. In fact, the sign pictured here is the exact style included with the package. After the party, most kids will want to hang it in their bedroom as a reminder of their big day.
03 | The Experience Stations
This is the heart of The Big Dig and where the adventure truly begins.
Designed to keep kids engaged, moving, and exploring throughout the celebration, the experience stations create hours of hands-on fun without requiring parents to manage every activity.
Crew Check-In
Every member of the construction crew receives a child-size safety vest complete with reflective striping and their own Home Depot 2-gallon Crew Bucket before entering the jobsite.
The bucket is intentionally sized for little builders—just like Dad's bucket, only their size. Throughout the party they'll use it to collect keepsakes and prizes from each station. Both the bucket and vest are theirs to keep after the party.
The Dig Site
Each builder receives their own excavation tote filled with sand and hidden prizes waiting to be uncovered.
Using a metal construction vehicle that's theirs to keep, they'll dig through the site searching for construction-themed treasures including a mini tape measure, miniature traffic cone, and additional jobsite keepsakes to add to their Crew Bucket.
The Build Zone
Builders put their creativity to work using blocks, Duplos, and construction materials to create towers, structures, and projects of their own design.
The Demo Zone
What gets built must eventually come down. Builders use a soft wrecking ball to knock down cardboard block towers and complete demolition challenges throughout the day.
The Construction Yard
A dedicated play area filled with trucks, cones, signs, and construction equipment designed for open-ended imaginative play.
Together, the Build Zone, Demo Zone, and Construction Yard create a self-guided construction playground where kids can explore, build, demolish, and play while parents enjoy the party.
04 | The Decorations & The Vibe
Forget the cardboard party aisle.
Every Big Dig party includes thoughtfully coordinated decorations designed to create a construction-themed celebration that feels elevated without feeling overdone. Black linen tablecloths, yellow runners, construction signage, traffic cones, themed centerpieces, melamine dinnerware, and reusable construction cups all work together to transform your party space into an active jobsite.
Each child receives a reusable construction-themed cup complete with a lid and straw to use throughout the party and take home afterward. It's a practical keepsake that parents will appreciate and kids will actually be excited to use.
The result is a party that photographs beautifully, feels intentionally designed, and creates a space that parents will enjoy just as much as the kids.
05 | The Keepsakes
Every builder leaves with something worth taking home.
Throughout the party, kids will collect their keepsakes in a Home Depot 2-gallon Crew Bucket that becomes part of the adventure and a practical take-home item after the celebration.
In addition to the bucket each member of the construction crew receives:
• Child-Size Construction Vest with Reflective Safety Striping
• Metal Tonka-Style Construction Vehicle
• Mini Tape Measure
• Mini Traffic Cone
• Reusable Construction Cup with Lid & Straw
We've intentionally focused on practical keepsakes instead of disposable party favors. Parents are welcome to add candy or additional treats if they choose, but every item included in The Big Dig is designed to be used long after the party is over.
06 | The Dirty Dish Bin
When the jobsite closes for the day, simply toss all reusable tableware into the included Dirty Dish Bin and send the mess home with us.
We'll handle the cleanup so you can focus on making memories instead of washing dishes. Using reusable dishes, cups, decorations, and party materials is part of our commitment to reducing waste and protecting the outdoors we all enjoy.
Less waste. Less cleanup. More time enjoying the celebration.
