39

Yesterday I turned 39. As a general rule, I hate getting older. This one stings a little more as I embark on the last year of my thirties.

Since I'm already on the downhill slide to 40, I've spent a lot of time thinking about how to make this year count. I thought about who I want to be when I turn 40 and set some personal goals — health and fitness, family, finances. All good stuff. But it almost feels like making New Year's resolutions, and we all know how those go. Either way, I'm entering this new year with a clear sense of intention and that feels like enough.

As I work toward the version of myself I want to be at 40, I also feel genuine gratitude for where I am at 39. I built a real brand over the last year that didn't exist twelve months ago. The best part is that brand is built around spending more quality time outside with my wife, kids, and family. Last week I sold my first rental package. The merch store is live. The digital content is flowing. I hope to keep growing this thing into something worth talking about.

Beyond ODC, I'm blessed. Supportive wife. Two awesome kids. A job I love that also pays the bills. And apparently more energy than most people — I'm writing this while my entire family sleeps. The photo above pretty much sums it up — my kids on the deck, a

chicken that has absolutely no business being on the furniture, and not a screen in sight. That's the whole point.

This year is about giving The Outdoor Dad Co a real shot. More content, new packages, a full birthday party line, and watching me pretend I'm young enough to figure out TikTok. I'm glad you're all here for it.

The best is yet to come.

Cheers to 39. See you out there 🤝

That's Vol. 2.

Get outside. 🦆
